Follow these steps to help you schedule a colonoscopy.
1. Call your insurance company to find out if they will pay for it, how much they will pay, and which doctors you can go to. Many insurance companies will pay for the entire amount because of the Affordable Care Act, but you should call to double check. You can see a list of questions to ask your insurance company here.

2. Choose a doctor who you would like to do your colonoscopy. A colonoscopy is a very special kind of procedure, so it is very important you have it done by someone who knows exactly what they are doing. Click here for some tips to help you find the best doctor to do your colonoscopy.
3. After you’ve chosen a doctor, call to schedule an appointment. Keep in mind that you will need to follow a special diet the day before your colonoscopy, and you will need someone to take you home after it is over. Click here for a list of questions you may want to ask.Go Back
